Nathan Pelz shoot. Pasadena, CA

Can you really blame the sun? San Onofre, CA.

If my trip to San Onofre on Saturday seems epic from these pictures, its because it WAS, Jon. I’m moving to New York. In February… the coldest month of the year.  This being my last week in sunny California, I was glad to soak up all the sun I could. And it was a particularly blue-sky-beautiful day on Saturday in San O.

Nate and Holly. Pasadena (and LA), CA

Yesterday I had the pleasure of hanging out with my good friends, Nate and Holly. We went on a metro adventure (something I highly recommend) around LA. It took us through Chinatown, Olvera street, Union Station, Grand Central Market, and old town Pasadena (near their apartment). Enjoy some photos I took of them on our trip around town:

Bro-futurists event. Seal Beach, CA

Saturday night Winn and I headed over to an excellent community event in Seal Beach. There was a lot of stuff happening/people involved, so I’m resorting to a list here (in no particular order):

1. Bro Futurists
2. The Salon
3. Avi Buffalo
4. Dan Callis’s studio opening
5. The Hobo Soul (and soup!)
6. The Winnebago Experience
7. Aaron Belz‘ brilliant poetry. Perfect blend of comedy and tragedy.

Umm… there’s more but just check out these pictures:

Tyler Gipe.

I’m in the process of sifting through a thousand photos from this weekend. So as I’m getting ready for the photo-blog-post of the century, here’s something to nibble on: my friend Tyler Gipe’s photos.

He’s a finalist for 944 magazine’s unscene photographer contest. If you like his photos (and you should) vote for him here.
